Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives season 3 has taken the internet by storm. Everyone is talking about the glamorous lives of these beautiful Bollywood wives. Among these celebrities is Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who has opened up about her approach to fitness and health.
Riddhima, a member of the renowned Kapoor family, takes a balanced approach when it comes to diet and fitness. She proudly admits that her food philosophy reflects her family’s legendary love for food. “I don’t believe in diets, and I eat everything. I don’t deprive myself of anything,” she shares. Unlike many celebrities who follow strict diet plans, Riddhima embraces all foods and maintains her slim figure with a consistent yoga routine.

Yoga Over Gym: Riddhima’s Fitness Choice

For Riddhima, fitness isn’t about spending hours in the gym or sweating it out on cardio machines. Instead, she’s been practising yoga for over 14 years. “I have been doing yoga for the past 14 years, and that is the only workout I do. I don’t go to the gym, nor do I spend hours on cardio machines,” she says.
Yoga offers numerous benefits beyond physical fitness; it’s known to relieve stress, enhance focus, and improve emotional well-being. Riddhima credits yoga not only for keeping her in shape but also for helping her maintain balance amid her busy lifestyle.

The Wheel Pose (Chakrasana) – Riddhima’s Favourite

On the show, Riddhima is seen performing the wheel pose, or chakrasana, which she fondly calls the "NK pose" in honour of her mother, veteran actor Neetu Kapoor. This advanced yoga asana offers impressive benefits, from boosting strength to enhancing flexibility and even aiding blood glucose regulation.
Chakrasana, also known as the upward bow or wheel pose, opens up the chest, stretches the abdomen, and strengthens the back and legs. It also energizes the entire body, making it one of yoga’s most powerful poses for vitality and balance.

How to Do the Wheel Pose (Chakrasana) Safely

If you’re inspired to try Riddhima’s favourite yoga pose, here’s a step-by-step guide to performing the wheel pose safely:
- Warm-Up: Begin with a gentle warm-up to prepare your body, focusing on the wrists, shoulders, spine, and hips.
- Lie Down: Start by lying flat on your back with your arms by your sides. Bend your knees, bringing your feet close to your hips, keeping them hip-width apart.
- Position Your Hands: Place your hands on either side of your head with your fingers pointing toward your shoulders. Ensure that your palms are pressed firmly into the floor.
- Lift Your Body: Press your feet and palms into the ground, lifting your hips off the floor. As you inhale, engage your core and slowly raise your chest, bringing your head gently off the floor.
- Extend Fully: Straighten your arms and legs as much as possible, arching your back. Keep your breathing steady and try to hold the pose for a few breaths.
- Release Gently: To come out of the pose, bend your elbows and knees, lowering your back and hips slowly to the ground. Rest in a supine position before transitioning to a seated pose.
Benefits: Practicing chakrasana can help build spine flexibility, improve cardiovascular function, and boost energy levels. It stimulates the thyroid and pituitary glands, which may also benefit metabolic and hormonal balance.
