We all feel eating unhealthy and junk food contributes to weight gain, but that’s not the only reason. Bad lifestyle habits including smoking, drinking, stress, sleep disorders or even the loss of someone special can make you indulge in unhealthy habits that may lead to weight gain. This is exactly what happened with 37-year-old Abhishek Tiwari who lost his parents and stress became the only constant in his life. Being a vegetarian it became even more difficult for him to even think of transforming himself as with a vegetarian lifestyle without supplements he thought it was impossible.
“I never thought a vegetarian lifestyle without supplements could lead to such a transformation, but JC and the team proved me wrong—they worked a miracle! It wasn’t overnight; it demanded immense effort initially, but now it’s my lifestyle. Life wasn’t kind to me during my final semester of engineering—I lost my parents, and survival became my priority. Despite the odds, I completed my studies and secured a position as a sub-engineer in a small Chhattisgarh village. By then, my weight had skyrocketed past 95 kg,” he said.
Abhishek tried everything in his diet, from keto to intermittent fasting, but nothing worked for him. He did lose weight but with the help of Fittr. “I tried everything—keto, intermittent fasting, crash diets—you name it. Yes, I lost weight but at the cost of balance. Despite hitting the gym regularly, I couldn’t control my increasing weight. Then, in 2022, I stumbled upon JC Fitness in my feed. Sceptical but curious, I took a one-month plan, and it changed everything. Muzammil, my coach, gave me insights I’d never known—clear, precise, and life-changing,” he said.
Without extreme diets or supplements, Abhishek followed the JC philosophy and saw real results. “My wife, too, embraced it postpartum, shedding the extra weight with the same science of fitness. Today, it’s not just about weight loss; it’s about living a balanced, sustainable, and healthier life. If we can do it, so can you!” Abhishek shared.
What Inspired You To Embark On This Journey?
Transforming himself was a dream for Abhishek. He recalls seeing Hrithik Roshan on screen in 2006 and getting awestruck by his physique, but that very moment he decided one day he would become the best version of himself. “The moment I saw Hrithik on screen in 2006, I was awestruck by his physique—it planted the seed of a dream. But over time, I realized it’s not just about looking like someone else. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself, deciding how you want to see yourself, and committing to the effort it takes to maintain that vision,” he said.Abhishek started his weight loss transformation journey at 95kgs and now he is at 75kgs. This transformation took months and years for him but his consistency, and dedication made his dream come true and after 4 years, he achieved his goal. His fat percentage was in double digits; now, he aims to keep it in single digits. “It’s about building a sustainable and fit lifestyle, not just chasing a number!” he said.
Challenges Faced During Weight Loss Transformation
Coming from a vegetarian family where even eggs are not part of their diet, getting enough protein was a real challenge for Abhishek. Paneer, soya chunks, and lentils were among the very few sources, but they didn’t provide the complete protein his body needed. “Initially, I resisted protein shakes, so I resorted to eating 100-130 grams of soya chunks just to hit my daily protein target. But then, my coach guided me on how to properly fulfil my protein needs, and that made all the difference,” he shares.“Another hurdle was the strong tea cravings—how could I work in a government office without chai, right? But JC and the team gave me the right science to handle that too. I didn’t have to compromise on my beloved tea, and still, I enjoyed the incredible transformation of my body! It’s all about finding the right balance and making informed choices!” he said.
What Helped You Stay Motivated Throughout Your Weight Loss Journey?
Being consistent and staying motivated are the biggest challenges when it comes to weight loss. But if you have supported people around you, then nothing is unachievable. “Staying motivated throughout my weight loss journey wasn’t easy, but having the support of my family played a vital role. My brother, who also embarked on the same transformation and saw amazing results, was a huge motivator. My wife has been a constant source of support and motivation, they have always been a strong source of encouragement,” Abhishek said.Apart from that, Abhishek trusted himself. He believed in the process, stayed consistent, and the results showed. Over time, seeing the changes in himself became a habit, and now, going back to how it was earlier feels unimaginable for him. “I know that regaining would take even more effort than it did to lose, and that thought alone keeps me pushing forward,” he said.
Diet And Exercise Regimen Followed During Transformation
The idea was always to make the plan enjoyable whilst bringing out optimal resultsSomething that I can follow for the long run, Abhishek shares. His Fittr coach Muzammil Haque planned the diet for me based on his preferences.
“We started off with a comfortable calorie deficit diet and accelerated the process once I was in the zone, very strategically planned again considering the hunger levels, energy levels, work-related stress and more. Followed my coach’s advice on training as well. He thoughtfully planned things for me, taking a very specific approach based on my goal. Never had to train extensively. Aimed at enough volume from what I could recover making sure we are not overtraining avoiding junk volume,” he said.
Advice For Others Who Are Looking To Embark On A Similar Transformation Journey
“My advice for anyone looking to embark on a transformation journey is simple: Consistency and patience are key. It’s not about quick fixes or shortcuts. Stay committed to the process, trust in the science, and focus on building a sustainable lifestyle. Don’t let setbacks discourage you—every challenge is a learning opportunity. And remember, it’s not just about looking different; it’s about feeling better, healthier, and more confident in yourself. Take it one step at a time, and always believe in your ability to transform,” he said.How Has Your Life Changed Since Achieving Your Weight Loss Goals?After achieving his weight loss goals, his life has changed completely. Not only does he feel physically stronger and more energetic, but his mindset has shifted too. “I’m more confident, disciplined, and focused in every area of my life—work, relationships, and personal growth. I’ve learned that health is the foundation of everything, and it reflects in my mental clarity, productivity, and overall happiness. The transformation isn’t just about the physical change; it’s about the way I approach life with a renewed sense of purpose and determination,” he said.
